I like this name for a boy. Would appreciate your opinions :)

Not keen. Reminds me of Che (Guevara) or tea in Arabic (shay)

I really like it - we were going to call dd that if she was a boy. We thought about the spelling - Shea, Shay and Shaye and decided that Shay was much nicer. And after googling lots everyone else seemed to prefer that spelling too.

I spoke to a Shay when we were considering it - he was a customer services guy I spoke to when I rang up the bank. I asked him what he thought of his name and he LOVED it. Said he liked it because it was unusual and got lots of compliments.

At the end of the day everybody has different tastes. We are probably going ahead with a name that people have absolutely slated me for on here. I tried to change my mind because of that - but have kept coming back to it.

If I heard it, I would assume it was written 'Che'.
If I saw it written down, I would assume it was a girl's name, like Skye.

Sounds really nice when you hear it, but won't make his life easy ... Perhaps that won't matter if you want him to stand out from the crowd.

I know 2 little boys called Shay, so not that unusual really

I really like it but is very popular where I am just now, know 5 under 5. I don't know if that would put you off?

I used to work with a Shay. Lovely Irishman. I think it's lovely but lose the 'e'.

I know a Shay, he's very adorable, named after Shay Given.
