Is Hattie short for any name besides Harriet? I can't think of any myself.

Might it be short for Henrietta?

It's normally just short for Harriet. Could be a possibility for Henrietta but have never heard that in RL before.

I have a Hattie Hope and the registrar had to ask if we wanted Hattie or Harriet on the Birth Certificate.

TrillianAstra · 27/09/2010 17:15

Harriet

TrillianAstra · 27/09/2010 17:16

Sorry, meant it is only like to be Harriet.

You could probably make it Hattie short for Rachel if you just say it often enough. Or just call your DD Hattie on its own.

It is short for Henrietta too. Harriet is originally just a diminutive of Henrietta so it makes sense.

Hedgeblunder · 27/09/2010 20:46

I think harriet is an excellent name :D

MummyGeorgie · 27/09/2010 22:23

Hattie can be for Harriet or Henrietta although Hattie is more often used for Harriet and Hettie or Henrietta.

Bue is right though. They all stem from Henrietta.

I looked it up after getting the spelling wrong on a thread on here :o

Thank you everyone.
I love Hattie Hope.
