DH and I don't agree on boys names.

Hello. Having a nightmare finding boys names DH and I agree on. DH likes good 'ol catholic names, like Peter, Anthony, John etc, and refuses to have anything flouncy or royal. I like names like Dexter, Theo, Jude, Lucas. Is there any hope of us finding a happy medium?! Any advice much apriciated. Comments on said names too please!

John and Peter are not royal? Theo and Jude not Saint's names? Bit confused.

There are tons of good Saint's names:

Sebastian
Bede
Patrick

Ok, maybe I meant royal names like Charlie (Charles), and Harry. I think DH would think Theo and Jude were too flouncy. I thought we were nearly there with Lucas, but apparently there is a Lucas who plays for Liverpool - DH is a passionate Evertonian...
Better go and find a Saints list I think. I like Bede and Jonah. Thanks all.

I've said this before on other pages, give your DH 3 Veto's on names.

As for the football link, that's just plain mad..and no doubt very annoying for you.

Football links are so silly as the players change teams so much! We have a relative who named their son after a Liverpool player. Player left the team, Dad left home, Mum changed then 3 year old's name to something she'd preferred anyway!! (not implying anything so crazy would happen to you!).

If DH likes biblical names, Jude is a good one! You also have Joshua, Daniel, Zachary - which can all be shortened to shorter nick names.

If worst comes to worst, play the giving birth card to ensure you get final say on the name...
