What d'ya reckon to these then...?

Apparently i am having a girl.
I(stupidly) told my partner that he could choose the name if baby was a girl, but i'm quite adamant that i want a name that means something. In other words, i don't want to choose a name just because i liked it at the time, or it was 'fashionable' at the time.

Frontrunners so far are Bonnie (this is his choice surprisingly!) He's English, i'm Scottish, we live in England but we met via the internet, where my username was Bonnie.
I want Christy - his name is Chris, but it's more for my gran who was called Christina who died last year.

We also like Grace and Matilda, but these names mean nothing to us.
It's our first child and took me 7 years to conceive (PCOS) so i want the name to be special to us.

How about Bonnie Christina? :) Sounds lovely to me.

I must admit I love, love Grace. Bonnie is also nice but it somehow sounds like a nickname to me.

I think Christina is nice. Would you consider that instead of Christy?

Bonnie is very sweet and not many around these days. I like it.

Christy is a boy's name in Ireland, where my family are from, so I think it sounds strange on a girl.

Grace is exceptionally popular, but I also love it.

Not keen on Matilda. Too twee and loads of little Tillys about.

Bonny is lovely (with bronwen on bc maybe)my ds has a little g/f in reception called bonny, she is beautiful!

I love Bonnie - really beautiful. Would use Christina as a middle name.

Grace is very common now.
Christina would be unusual now.
Bonnie is pretty. Husband may be right!

Bonnie is beautiful imo, and what a lovely story behind it too. I like the sound of Bonnie Christina. Or Bonnie Christabel.

Am also Irish and think of Christy Moore when I hear the name Christy. Not girlish.

Matilda and Grace are very nice, but Bonnie is lovely and means something to you.

Thanks everyone. My mum had suggested Bonnie Christina, and i've just discussed it with him indoors, and that definitely seems to be the winner so far :-)
