Phoebe, Poppy or Holly?

Opinions gratefully received? only got 2 weeks or so left now! I know people think poppy suits baby more than adult, but surely that will change with the next generation as there are so many of them??

All nice names, but Phoebe is my favourite (and my dd2's name Grin) It gets lots of positive comments. And little children (her nursery friends) call her Fifi, which I find rather sweet! Only thing is people are often unsure how to spell it, but that doesn't bother me!

Phoebe

Phoebe by a mile. Poppy is too cutesy (even if there will be loads of Poppy adults around in a few years time...).

smaych · 13/11/2010 22:15

Holly is my sister's name, I've always thought it's lovely :)

The others are good too, though. Poppy is really nice. Some great choices!

Holly...but clearly I am biased (oh and classy aswell!)

sunnydelight · 15/11/2010 05:35

Phoebe is the only one I would consider. I do like Holly and know a few adults with the name, but it's too close to all the "cute" names that are so common now (like Poppy!).

Holly

Phoebe-nn Poppy?

Don´t dislike Holly though.

bogie · 15/11/2010 10:41

We have got a Phoebe Grin she's a little monster angel

midnightexpress · 15/11/2010 10:42

Love Phoebe, Poppy OK, and also Holly, but everyone will ask her for her whole life if her birthday is on Xmas day.

NormanNorris · 15/11/2010 10:48

I quite like all three. All equally twee IMO. I would pick Poppy as it's an old fave.

galletti · 15/11/2010 10:54

I know I'm being sensitive, but find some of the comments about the name choices a little hurtful, as someone else said, you could just answer the question without the dubious comments.

Yes, my dd does have one of those names, in my area, it is not regarded as common, in fact in 8 years of school, there is not one other child with the name, and I have lost count of the number of times people have told her/us what a lovely name it is. I know its each to their own and all that but I would never make a 'horrid' comment about a name.

Rant over.

Poppy too trendy? Really?! I have never yet met a RL Poppy. I love it BTW.
