All the way through this pregnancy i've liked Joseph as a name but now i have 9 weeks left i'm not so sure and i've been looking for different names but now i'm being haunted by joseph! Pulled up at traffic lights saw a gravestone at the church nr the road and it said joseph on...went to pick my other ds from nursery and the teacher said she nearly gave her coat to joseph and a few other things. Any other suggestions? was thinking maybe joseph for a middle name if not the first

I love it, it's my all time favourite boys name. I've never understood why it isn't more popular.

I think it's quite normal to have wobbles about names. I'm due in four weeks, I keep going back to the same name in the same way you do, but it doesn't stop me thinking about other names too.

My dh said i did the same thing with our other ds but i cant remember. What middle names do u think would go with Joseph? The surname begings with R(if that makes any difference)

Joseph is a gorgeous name!

Joseph is a great name! (No biblical names here otherwise it'd be on the list)

I'm hearing dc3's potential name everywhere too - I think you just tune into it more.

We have a Joseph. It's a great name for a baby or for an adult. But I can understand your wobble. Wobbling is normal.

Why not wait to meet your baby? I'm not sure I agree with the 'wait and see whether he looks like a Joseph' theory (I don't think babies ever really look like they should be called something - I personally think they grow into a name) - but see how it feels to call him that once he's here. Another name you like more might come to you in the meantime. You have 6 weeks to register him.

Incidentally - we'd decided on a name for DD2 all the way through pregnancy - I wobbled just before she was born, about a week after she was born, but went with it - and now can't imagine her being called anything other than her name.

It was my grandads name who passed away this year, so I hope to use it in some form, I've always liked it and it is a bit timeless :)

It is fate, I had a dream that I would have a boy with the name Jacob and the cleaner at work had a dream about me having a boy beginning with J.

So when the time came... it had to be!

Thank u all, i've tried to relax, sticking with joseph but remaining open minded and will see if it suits when he's here. Just out of curisity what happens if you dont register after 6 weeks? do they name ur child for you at the hospital?
