What do you reckon?

Personally, I dislike it.

Buddy is what all the dogs around here are called. OK (ish) as a nickname, but I think this will be horribly difficult to live with, however posh/bohemian his schools are. I'd associate it with the other end of the spectrum in any case.

Dont mind Buddy so much, after all there are some cool namesakes : Buddy Holly, Buddy Rich, Buddy Guy - but the initials B.O. would have been a deal breaker for me.

My 4yr old son is called Buddy, we love his name and everyone where we live have got used to it. We wanted a name that wasn't popular but that also wasn't to out there.

hulabula · 02/10/2010 08:59

It's not to my taste personally, but I find it nicer than lots of other popular names mentioned on here (e.g. Willy) and I don't think kids will find Buddy particularly teaseworthy.

I know a Bud, so I can't say I think it's too terrible. I actually like Bear on its own, but the two together sound like a toy.

CharlieBoo - Oliver Oliver, even worse than Buddy Oliver I reckon.

Notyetamummy · 02/10/2010 16:33

I don't think Buddy on it's own is too bad - it's the fact that's it's combined with Bear & Maurice!

That, and the unfortunate initials.
