I know I have posted on Enid already today, but dh has said that this is now top of his list.
I think I rather like it.
What are opinions on Bridget?

No, don't honestly, it is awful.

zozzle · 06/09/2010 23:14

Love it!

Mousesmummy · 06/09/2010 23:15

It is not awful - it's beautiful, timeless and classic
Can you tell I've got one Smile

BuntyPenfold · 06/09/2010 23:15

Well zozzle you can have it - name swap?

morgan55 · 06/09/2010 23:35

i think it's really lovely

TheNextMrsDepp · 06/09/2010 23:37

Bridget is lovely! (but please knock Enid on the head - I'm all for granny names, but really.....)

BuntyPenfold · 06/09/2010 23:54

Name swap anyone?
You can have Bridget in exchange for yours.

maktaitai · 06/09/2010 23:57

Bunty, why don't you change your name if you hate it that much?

I used to dislike the name due to the sound of it, but have met a wonderful Bridget in the last few years and now it has a lot more charm for me.

BuntyPenfold · 07/09/2010 00:02

maktaitai I did as an adult - I never use it at work or socially, but it is still on paper, and my parents call me Bridget of course, as they chose it, or to be honest couldn't think of a name (wanted a boy) until actually at the font, when my father said 'let's call her after my mum.'

My mother agreed but she thought her MILs name was Ellen, which was what she was called.

telsa · 07/09/2010 10:02

I find Bridget very harsh and can't get midgets out of my head. But Brigitta is nice. With a hard G.

swanandduck · 07/09/2010 13:35

It just makes me think of an old lady in sensible stockings.

nooka · 08/09/2010 06:16

My sister is a Bridget, now known mostly as Bridge. I am not aware that she was ever teased for it.

babysoon1 · 17/09/2010 20:07

Brigid fabulous and unique but not too out of the ordinary.

Rhubarbgarden · 18/09/2010 11:11

Love it. Bridget Jones will be ancient history in a few years. It was on my list but hubby vetoed it for no clear reason.

proudfoot · 18/09/2010 16:46

I really like it. I think of Bridget Jones, but I like the character so IMO it's not a problem.
