Scarlett and others

I am interested in hearing opinions on the name Scarlett - is it overused, classy or trashy, intersting or dull, etc??

My other considerations are Nina, Phoebe or Lucy. Any general opinions on these?

Thank you.

Nina and Lucy are lovely, and Phoebe is quite nice. Not keen on Scarlett.

I was in Toys R Us last week & a mother was calling out to her daughter who was called Scarlett. I actually thought it sounded lovely & it really suited the little girl.

Not keen on your other names.

A classically beautiful name.

I don't think of it as a classic name. What are its origins?

I quite like Scarlett, really like Lucy too. Not keen on the other names.

horatia - its origin as a given name is basically Gone With The Wind. The heroine's full name is Katie Scarlett O'Hara, Scarlett having come from an ancestral surname iirc.

I don't dislike Scarlett at all, but do feel it is very 'now' and for that reason wouldn't use it myself.

Phoebe and Lucy are both beautiful names with plenty of history and meaing behind them, which I like. Both popular, esp. Lucy, depends whether that bothers you.

Nina... I'm neutral on really, doesn't excite me one way or the other. It's certainly the most unusual of the 4.

I love Lucy and really like Nina too. Scarlett and Phoebe are quite nice but I definitely prefer the others.
