I love classic names and have recently become obsessed with this name. Is it too boring? And what would you suggest for a middle name. I already have a little girl called Charlotte.

I'd go for it because of the Bronte connection! I'm a Charlotte and love my name (!), and have Emily on the list if my DC on its way turns out to be a DD. My sister's name is Annabelle, and that seems to go well with Charlotte- but maybe that's 28 years of hearing the names together!

Alice is also lovely.

NadiaWadia I know an Emily Jane, and think it's a great name. She's in her late teens now and it still suits her as much as it did when she was a babe in arms.

It's a beautiful name and goes wonderfully with Charlotte (mummy Bronte had great taste).

It was my first choice but I changed my mind once I realised how popular it was. I would have gone for Emily Florence.

My DD is Emily Rose - I much prefer Emily to the other suggestions.

I quite like the spelling "Emylie" for Emily - it's quirky and just a little bit different to make your dd's life a little more interesting! Smile Grin

The Charlotte in ds assume has a little sister called Emily.
Both are great kids.
Although charlotte probably wouldn't want to be called a kid any more.

I think Emily and Charlotte are a great combination. The Bronte connection is irrelevant. So what if people say, 'oh like the Bronte sisters?' Say yes or no. No one's going to die.

I have a three year old Emilie. I first saw the name as one of the little victims of the Sandy Hook massacre was called Emilie. I was pregnant and was really affected by it. The story of Emilie particularly touched me. So when my beautiful DD was born, the name was a perfect l, natural, beautiful choice.
