Are you wanting unpopular names? I think you've succeeded with Earnshaw. Wink

Maria2007loveshersleep · 30/08/2010 09:05

Earnshaw?! Eh?

Cortina · 30/08/2010 09:06

No idea why I suddenly felt drawn to it? It's the hormones? Right???:)

I am sure I am supposed to think of Wuthering Heights, but to be honest Forest's finest popped into my head first.

Maria2007loveshersleep · 30/08/2010 09:10

I think Earnshaw is horrid but to each their own, of course.

Phoebe is lovely though :).

SpiderWilliam · 30/08/2010 09:33

I think you would have to love the nn "Ernie" if you went for Earnshaw, or at the least not mind kids at school calling him that.

Phoebe is very pretty, but for me I will always associate it with "Friends". I would assume that it may have had a spike in popularity as a result over the last 15 years, so it may end up sounding like quite a nineties/noughties name.

Earnshaw is horrible, please don't.

Phoebe is nice though.

horatia · 30/08/2010 12:53

Phoebe is nice.

Earnshaw immediately made me think of Wuthering Heights. I haven't heard of it elsewhere.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 30/08/2010 13:59

Yep - Wuthering Heights reference for me, too.

diddl · 30/08/2010 16:13

Wuthering Heights.

Also sounds like a surname imo.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 31/08/2010 14:56

Ditto Instantly thought Wuthering Heights.

monkeysmama · 31/08/2010 19:43

Have you read Wuthering Heights? Earnshaw is a wuss. Call the kid Heathcliff and be done Grin.

BessieBoots · 31/08/2010 19:47

Robbie Earnshaw.

DetectivePotato · 31/08/2010 20:35

Love Phoebe. It is our second choice if we have a girl so will probably be middle name.

Earnshaw? Really?

deliakate · 31/08/2010 20:40

I like Earnshaw, but our surname is like a christian name, so it would never work, people mix it up enough as it is.

I like all the WH boy's names though, although Hindley will never make it on to the top 10 list I don't think.

ernie1981 · 03/09/2010 14:56

As someone who has take Earnshaw as my married name....don't inflict it as a first name!! Particularly if you're down south, you always have to spell it for people, and the ernie nickname is inevitable!
