the thing with nicknames is you can make them up! so, if it works for you, why not!

skyeplusbump · 28/08/2010 15:02

CupcakesHay · 28/08/2010 15:47

Yeah - agree - in this instance, it would def work - can do NN as WHATEVER you want!

fivecrazymonkeys · 28/08/2010 16:36

Absolutely - you can make up any nn you want! My daughter is called Emelia but has a nn of Ella! Go with it I say!

JetSetWilly · 28/08/2010 18:09

Ah thanks all massive sigh of relief!

Have since realised first and middle name will be the same as Paul McCartney's daughter.... But we have really thought about this for so long I don't care!

Well I guess it won't strictly be if her nn is Betty!

I think the Welsh version of the name is 'Bettrys' - so I'm sure you could use Betty.

I know someone with a DD called Madeleine and her nn is Mimi - so I'm pretty sure you can do what you like!

traceybath · 28/08/2010 20:41

I have a Beatrice and she's pretty much always Bea.

Although a lady in Dr's surgery suggested her nn could be 'trisha' umm yes perhaps Hmm

Betty normal nickname for Elizabeth I think which is a lovely name too.
