I love the name Lion for a boy but would it cause endless embarassment for the child?

Also love Luan, but is Luan a girl's name?

Please don't call him LionShock.

belgo · 25/08/2010 20:57

I know a Leontine (girl)

Bacofoil · 25/08/2010 21:01

What about something similar, like Rory or Brian?

belgo · 25/08/2010 21:02

Grin at Rory

Bacofoil · 25/08/2010 21:03

Luan is a place in China.

Is the name pronounced 'Lou-Anne'?

MillyMollyMardy · 25/08/2010 21:11

or Roary...
You could have Lion if it was pronounced Leon

hester · 25/08/2010 21:13

Leon is nice.

I have been pondering Zion - think it might be too religious/Rastafarian for me, but you can have it if you like?

MadAboutQuavers · 25/08/2010 21:24

Lion? Oh please... Hmm

You should only be called Lion if you are a resident of Longleat.

Why stop there? What about "Puma"? [

greenlotus · 25/08/2010 21:27

OP did you mean "Leon" and spell it wrong? Leon is a great name.

SirBoobAlot · 25/08/2010 22:26

Lion is stupid - its not a name, its an animal.

Leo is really nice.

MrsMadWriggle · 25/08/2010 23:50

If you have other DCs you could call them Giraffe or Hippo maybe...

I'm thinking there is a general consensus here.

You have too be careful with babynames
I have posted before that my friend used her great grandmothers name for her daughter- her name is Uglina!
She is plain to top it all
