if you are called constance, do you like your name?

As above. Dh's fave name and im not sure dd will thank me for it.

My DD (now 20) is called Constance. When she was about 5 she decided she'd like to be known as Connie, - so that is always an option. Obviously I think it;s a beautiful name, and my DD has never said she dislikes it.

There is a Constance at my DDs school, and she loves her name. It's also my DD1's middle name as i absolutely love it, but hate Connie!

I think it depends if you could stomach the shortening. If you're unsure, try it for a bit and give her a middle name she could adopt instead if she really hates it that much!
We tried 4 names on DS before finding one that fitted. He was 4 days old by that point. :o

I think it's severe and uptight.

But I'm not sure you can compare the experiences of a (say) 37 year old Constance with the experiences a baby born today would have.

I don't think it's a name that would lead to teasing! It's just so, so harsh.

Connie is pretty and strong. I prefer Penny though. What about Penelope?

Connie -she sound good fun, and Constance is serious but pretty.

I'm not called this (thank god) but I think it sounds very old ladyish.

Our dog is called Connie.

Love it, I also love Patience, Faith and all the other virtue names apart from Verity for some reason.
