we are sorted if a girl but really struggling with boy ideas.
don't want anything too biblical or 'out there' but not too common either. dont want it to end 'an'.
surname begins with t.
any helpful ideas!
i am reasonably keen on names like joel, callum.. but husband not keen - he likes sam, oliver but i think too common...
thanks!!

Liam
Felix
Dexter
Marcus
actucally we do both quite like felix - but is it not a bit strong in personality already? i.e. imposes a personality on its owner???
not sure...

I think Felix sounds lovely -- neither strong nor weak, just well disposed. I like Liam too but I'm biased as I know one who is gorgeous.

OTOH I think Dexter comes with a lot of 'brand image' (race car, suntan, rich and spoiled), as does Marcus, but that conjures up two separate images for me (Roman conqueror type, and boy whose mother thought Mark wasn't fancy enough).

Oliver very common amongst the 2 year olds I hang out with.

I have a Sam and he is the only one I know.

My DH said no to every single name I mentioned until the six week deadline.
He then suggested one of my names that he'd discarded ages ago as if it was his own idea.

Obviously, I agreed to his lovely suggestion!

ooh had never thought of those associations for dexter and marcus!! i see what you mean - i thought dexter was just a fun, rascally name and marcus quite solid. hmmm! am leaning back towards felix now. but is it not a cat name???
i do quite like sam but i know lots. and just feel i'd like to be more daring!!
