Is this a nice name for a girl or have my hormones kicked in?!

Bonnie??

Went to see Toy Story 3 with the kids yesterday and the gorgeous little girl in it was called Bonnie so it got me thinking.....

Other names on shortlist so far are Verity and Scarlett

Opinions please

Sorry but for me Bonnie will always be the Blue Peter Dog...

Prefer Verity....

MummikinsOopNorth · 05/08/2010 18:16

I think of Bonnie as a dogs name (sorry) or the extremely moody, potty-mouthed girl who lives in my town who was a few years below me at school. Bonnie, she is not!

Just a thought...what if your baby wasn't a pretty baby? What if she was 'unusual' looking?

crumpet · 05/08/2010 18:19

Could go for Bronwen with Bron/Bronnie as a nn?

MaryMungo · 05/08/2010 18:21

I like it, but it does make me think of red hair and teeth. Verity was on my shortlist too, not fond of Scarlett, tho I guess Lettie for short would be nice.

ValiumSingleton · 05/08/2010 18:23

I like Bonnie. But I think that is better as a nn for something longer.

I like Lottie as well.

LaundryLyne · 05/08/2010 18:25

OK as a nickname for Bonita.

PauloNuttella · 05/08/2010 19:07

I really like Bonnie, it doesn't seem like a dog name to me at all

kiwidreamer · 05/08/2010 19:11

Much prefer Verity over Bonnie, its just a bit too... jolly... sometimes you want to be serious and I think as a 30 yr old being a Bonnie all day every day might be annoying at times!

Scarlett is quite popular, not that is a bad thing just might be a few in her year at school etc

cece · 05/08/2010 19:19

Verity was top of our list for DC3.

PaulineCampbellJones · 05/08/2010 19:25

Bonnie Langford. No.

HotSprocket · 05/08/2010 19:31

Hormones I'm afraid

defineme · 05/08/2010 19:32

I know little girls with each of those names.
I think Scarlett had a moment and is losing popularity (not necessarily a bad thing). Verity is usually posh (though taught one who was most definately not). Bonnie is nice, but often associated with animals.

I love the 3 little girls I know with these names and, as with any name, the child grows into it and you forget the preconceptions you had.

DilysPrice · 05/08/2010 19:34

Bonnie is OK, but not very grown-up.

Verity is nice in a Victorian sort of way.

Scarlett has been done to death in our area.

Tortington · 05/08/2010 19:38

where i come from bonnie is a euphamism for pretty but fat.

imahappycamper · 05/08/2010 19:42

What about Bonita, shortened to Bonnie?

catinthehat2 · 05/08/2010 19:51

Bonnie will always be Bonneh from Big Brother for me. Beyond ghastly unfortunately - it will take a long time for that one to die out in my mind.

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 05/08/2010 19:54

Bonnie is cute on a little girl but too cutesy for an adult, IMO. Which is a pity as there is a Bonnie I would rather like to name a DD after.

5DollarShake · 05/08/2010 20:16

I like Bonnie, think Scarlett is over-done, and really, really do not like Verity (but recognise that for some unfathomable reason I am in a minority on that ).

5DollarShake · 05/08/2010 20:18

Was Bonnie from BB the one with the 'biggest tits in Huddersfield' (apart from her mam and her nan)? Or am I mixing her up with some other class act one else?

Wanderingsheep · 05/08/2010 20:22

Sorry, I think Bonnie is a dog's name too. OMG, Bonnie from BB! She wasn't very bonnie was she?!

Scarlett is lovely .

catinthehat2 · 05/08/2010 20:23

It was indeed she. Sorry Bonnies everywhere

3plusbump · 05/08/2010 22:30

Hmm, That went well then!

Blue Peter dog?
Bonnie Langford??
Pretty but fat???
Biggest tits in Huddersfield???

Sounds like my hormones have kicked in again

I get to 6 months pregnant and I'm not safe to be let loose with the baby name finder....

But the other names that you have picked are perfectly lovely!

Haliborange · 05/08/2010 22:34

Ooh no, but I have a hankering for a little girl named something seneible but with the nickname Minnie. (And I am not even pregnant).

Verity is nice.
