Beatrice
Louisa
Clementine
Mary
Alexandra

My first choice would be Katherine (Kitty) or Elizabeth (Libby) but unfortunately these names are already in the family and we don't want to double up.

Any other suggestions would be welcome!

Thanks.

Love beatrice and louisa, hate clementine, so so on Mary and alexandra.

SpanishLady · 05/08/2010 16:54

Not keen on beatrice because (sorry to be harsh)of the bug-eye princess of that name.

Love Clementine, think Mary has a sweet and stylish aura and like Alexandra but cannot use the name due to family issues.

My middle name is Luisa so like it too.

I'd go for Alexandra

belgo · 05/08/2010 16:57

Bug eyed princess is very harsh, nasty even. And not even true.

It certainly wouldn't put me off using the name Beatrice, it's lovely.

All the rest are fine.

BelligerentGhoul · 05/08/2010 17:00

Beatrice - love it
Louisa - ok
Clementine - hate it
Mary - no opinions either way
Alexandra - hate it

Maybe:

Isobel / Isobella
Georgiana
Jane
Lydia
Cassandra
Caroline
Charlotte

Excuse the slight Jane Austen tone to the list but your list seemed very of that period!

LilMagill · 05/08/2010 17:03

Mary - used to find it frumpy but now it seems really fresh and outside all the trends.

Beatrice is pretty popular so it doesn't occur to me to think of Princess B (unlike, say, if you were going for Eugenie).

Doozie · 05/08/2010 17:59

Belgo - are you Fergie? The Princess connection doesn't put me off either.

BelligerentGhoul - thanks for your suggestions, yes I think you're on track with the JA connection.

Isobel / Isobella - Beautiful, but not keen as I know 3 born in the last 18mths.
Georgiana - Love, but might be too much of a mouthful.
Jane - Already in the family, but the love simplicity.
Lydia - Will put this to DH.
Cassandra - ditto
Caroline - Love, DH says too 70s
Charlotte - Lovely, but know 8 of them, all ages.

I love Tess too. Can it be short for anything other than Therese/Theresa/Terese/Teresa?

I like all the names on your list Would you use any of them as a middle name? I think most of the possible combinations would go well together.

weepootle · 05/08/2010 20:46

My favourite is Louisa, dd2 was almost called this. I like Beatrice and Clementine is ok although I find it a bit pretentious. I don't like Mary or Alexandra.

LaundryLyne · 05/08/2010 20:52

Harriet
Emma
Clara
Miriam
Marianne
Julia
Lucy
Josephine
Henrietta
Sophia
Penelope
Eugenie
Estella
Sarah
Abigail
Viola
Coralie
Anna
Cecilia
Aurelia

Beral · 05/08/2010 20:57

Beatrice - Not a fan.
Louisa - Nice
Clementine - Naff
Mary - Fantastic, such a great name but not in common usage for newborns.
Alexandra - OK

MrsJohnDeere · 05/08/2010 21:04

Really like all except Louisa.

JeanLouiseFinch · 05/08/2010 21:07

Definitely Alexandra

BelligerentGhoul · 05/08/2010 21:30

Daisy
Voilet
Alice
Naomi
Ruth
Yolande
Hermione

Beatrice - Nice, love Bea as a nn.
Louisa - My favourite from your list - a classic, yet beautiful whilst still underused name.
Clementine - Not keen.
Mary - A bit meh.
Alexandra - Too masculine for my liking.

NiceCuppaT · 05/08/2010 22:31

The tess I know is short for tessa!

ValiumSingleton · 06/08/2010 09:24

Beatrice - I like it.

Louisa - love it.
Clementine - dislike it
Mary - ok. I love Marianne or Maribel
Alexandra - I like Sasha. Alexandra quite long and not keen on Alex for a girl.

Ineedsomesleep · 06/08/2010 09:51

Beatrice - Love, but it reminds me of Beatrice MacCartney more than the Princess, don't know why though.
Louisa - ok, but I wouldn't choose it.
Clementine - Love
Mary - Ok, maybe for a middle name?
Alexandra - Love.

Also love Tess, but ruled it out as our last name only has for letters and thought it would be to short.

muminthemiddle · 06/08/2010 12:13

Louisa and Alexandra are my favourites.

Pasiphae · 06/08/2010 12:18

I love Clementine, sweet classic but not too sickly with a good element of fun.

How about:
Cecily/Cecilia, Lucia, Lucille, Sybille, Priscilla, Prisca, Bethan, Jane, Adelaide, Heloise, Eliza, Verity, Domitilla, Isadora?

Kathleen123 · 06/08/2010 16:27

Oh what a lovely list:

Beatrice - like
Louisa - love
Clementine - like
Mary - love
Alexandra - love

Favourite for me is Louisa.

Londres · 06/08/2010 16:32

Louisa is lovely and I do not know of any little ones named Louisa

IHeartKingThistle · 06/08/2010 16:35

Like them all but agree with Oldjolyon about Louisa - it's lovely and not over-used (and isn't that the Holy Grail of baby-naming?) Smile
