we have decided on these names, what do you think? our ds is logan and i think they go ok together. unless im not noticing an obvious boo boo. our ds cant pronounce his l's but didnt think that really mattered when choosing a baby name as his own name begins with L. family-in-law dont really like riley but whos asking them hey?

I would say round here Riley is very very popular for boys and girls (Devon), if that matters to you.
Love Naomi.

ValiumSingleton · 04/08/2010 10:38

Naomi for a girl is lovely. Not keen on Riley. Elvis's granddaughter is called Riley I think. I believe Americans consider it a girls' name.

I think Ethan or Saul would go well with Naomi.

iv only heard of 1 riley and hes in scotland we are norfolk we dont catch on here too quickly! hahaha my dh now loves riley even more after your comment about elvis granddaughter!! hes not elvis mad or anything although due to high school impressions (many years ago) his nickname is elvis!!!! i like both ethan and saul but it wont go with naomi as we only have to name 1 baby. it will be either or.

I like Naomi. Really dislike Riley.

Think the following go well with Logan:

Ethan
James
Haydn
Isaac
Harvey
Connor
Felix
Mason

LynetteScavo · 04/08/2010 12:10

Logan is lovely.

Naomi is nice (was on our list for DD) but I'm really not keen on Riley.

kiwidreamer · 04/08/2010 13:03

Riley is nice for a kidlet but I cant help feeling that when he's in his 30's and trying to get a mortgage at a bank, applying for a promotion etc that it a little 'babyish' sounding IYKWIM - it doesnt feel like a man's name IMO, Logan is great - is on my boys shortlist for bubba2.

clpsmum · 04/08/2010 17:51

not keen on Naomi but think Riley is one of the best/coolest/nicest names ever love it sooooooo much

pointydog · 04/08/2010 18:05

naomi is lovely and v under-used for such a nice name.

riley, I don like it at all.

ValiumSingleton · 04/08/2010 18:11

LaundryLyne · 04/08/2010 21:14

Aaron
David
Gregory
Stefan
Evan
Jonathan
Miles
Thomas
Jerome
Aidan
Maximillian
D ylan
James
Zachary
Saul

mathanxiety · 05/08/2010 00:24

Naomi is beautiful. Riley is bleeeeeuch. (I also know a dog called Riley, and two American girls of the name)

mathanxiety · 05/08/2010 00:26

Lachlan would be lovely with Logan instead of Riley.

batsforlashes · 06/08/2010 22:08

They were my two choices for DC3!!!! Love love love Naomi but just found out DC3 will be DS1 so there goes Naomi ;-))

Still deciding between Riley and Elliot. I think Riley is in the top 5 boys names in Australia now so I imagine it is going to be very popular over here soon- sort of made me re-consider.

pinchmeimustbedreaming · 09/08/2010 13:06

well congratulations on your expectant ds1. i really dont mind about the whole how many other children are about with the same name. its more to do with the actual name. i really couldnt have a daniel, david, john, peter. we found boys names really difficult. i like many on here that you have suggested unfortunately dh doesnt!!

Hate Riley, love Naomi (its my name!!!).

pranma · 09/08/2010 14:04

I'm afraid I dont like Riley either but I love Naomi.
I am influenced because when I was teaching there was a really horrible family called Riley-seemed to be one every year :(

BelligerentGhoul · 09/08/2010 14:07

Love Naomi (have got one) but really, really dislike Riley, sorry.

catharine1 · 07/09/2010 12:56

I really like the name Riley, it's a nice name and not bleeeeech at all (what ever that means). If the name is so awful I suppose so many people are naming their children Riley to punish them. I have a two year old son called Riley and lots of people have said what a nice name it is.

lifeas3plus1 · 07/09/2010 19:17

Love naomi.

Not keen on Riley at all. There's someone shouting for Riley every 30 seconds around here. I agree that it sounds a bit childish for an adult.

Plus I always thought of it as a girls name.
