It crossed my mind though.....

It's in the top 100 boys names in Ireland, somewhere like #90 or thereabouts. It's pronounced Senn-an. In Irish it would be Shan-awn (spelled Seanan, with a fada on the A))

Seadna is another uncommon Irish boys' name, meaning hawklike. (Pr. Shay-dna; the DN is pronounced as in 'diDN't)

Just thought it looked lovely written down. Hope that's ok with you?

seeker · 03/08/2010 23:03

Ok with me - but a bit bonkers!

PaulineCampbellJones · 04/08/2010 06:44

Better to be bonkers than a smart arse.

When I saw this flash up on "most active" this morning I thought it said semen.

I think this could be even more of a problem if you spell it Sennen, when it is handwritten. Typed it looks fine. (Think: Clint)

I also think it looks like Senna (as in Ayrton) mis-spelled.

I am always so bloody negative on baby names but I think people do need to know about the possible negatives/teasing opportunities.

Hmm - tough judgement call there, PCJ!

lucybrad · 04/08/2010 13:46

i cant believe it made 'most active!' I bet it becomes real popular now!

This is the name I have picked and it means hero of the people among other things! I love it but Irish Simon biased lol I would say go for it if u like it because no matter what name u settle on, somebody won't like it!

Emmadilema · 23/09/2010 20:23

That should have been "but I'm Irish sonic
Biased" lol made a total mess of that post!

SirBoobAlot · 23/09/2010 20:38

Makes me think of semen, or that someone has got creative with Sean.

skidoodly · 24/09/2010 02:06

I don't think there us anything weird about picking this name if you have no Irish connection. It's easy to spell and pronounce in English, so there is no reason not to use it if you like it.
