I love Lois as well which is kind of a similar feel.

I really dislike it. It manages to sound both ugly and sickly sweet to my ears. It is popular around here, so my view may not be a common one.

I don't know really skidoodly, they just seem like old buddies in an old people's home, but the cool ones. Both very eau de wee chic, but in a good way.

In Sarah Harrison's The Flowers Of The Field there was a Dulcie, short for Dulcimer. It is a great book. I like it.

Just because Dulcie isn't used in the country as much anymore does not mean its not 'real'

At the hospital I work at, there are many patients with Dulcie as their name in their eighties, and I don't think any of them have been told their name isn't real.

I like Dulcie, and to be honest once she is at school you will have all the smart answers about how to pronounce and so on.

My niece is called Dulcie.
It is often shortened to the first syllable which I hate.

Don't like the meaning - I like women to have strong names. "Sweet" is a wimpy thing to be called, IMHO.

And it doesn't go with being a kick ass lawyer. Or, for that matter, a morose, plump, spotty teenager.

Good name for a baby, though. Trouble is, it's got to suit her for the next 88 years.

Oh, and asking for opinions will get those who agree and those who don't. That's what "opinion" means!

Lol i understand that negative comments will follow, but when someone gives me an opinion that doesnt fully explan what they mean, then I will of course fight back, haha.

And I hate names that are stereotypical of jobs! God knows what my job title should be based on my name!

Haha people never called me that for long- most used to call me Dulc! I love being a Dulcie but it's annoying that your name is so unique
