DH and I love the name Amber but my name is Emma. What do you think? I'm 40 wks tomorrow and we're really struggling to agree on a name - this is one of the first we both like but I think they sound too similar...

No I don't think they are similar. I am an Emma and my sister is Amy. I remember my Mum said people told her they would be too similar but it has never even remotely been an issue.

Go for it if you like Amber.

I have an Amber, and I think they grow up gorgeous (see my profile...)

Too alike for sisters but I like for mother and daughter.

ponceydog · 30/07/2010 14:02

I don't think it matters at all if your name is similar to your daughter's
