Alfie A bit boring. Seen it, done that.
Edward Quite on trend this year. I like it.
Ethan Ok, safe and therefore a bit boring
Henry Lovely
Jack Lovely
Malachy Too convoluted for me
Morgan not for me, like it better on girls
Tobias Lovely

Girls
Emilie Ok, any reason forthe French ending?
Fearne Lovely.
Felicity Lovely but frilly
Harriet Lovely
Liberty hum, that name could work fine or be a disaster, depends of the context.
Maisy Like Maisie better, but lovely too.
Matilda Cool.

Boys
Alfie - ok as NN, lacks gravitas for me as an adult. Bit overused now sadly.
Edward - have always wanted to like Edward, as the NNs are all good, but can't quite bring myself to love it.
Ethan - nice
Henry - ok, prefer Harry
Jack - popular for a reason, lovely name.
Malachy - MY fave on your list, but can't use with our surname sadly.
Morgan - nice
Tobias - always sounds a bit 70s to me, dunno why. Nice though.

Emilie - not keen on spelling. Prefer Emilia?
Fearne - not keen, cos of Cotton.
Felicity - feels a bit prim to me.
Harriet - ok
Liberty - like this actually.
Maisy - have a cat called Maisy. For me has same gravitas isssshooos as Alfie.
Matilda - really nice.

Good luck.

Ahhh, thank you ladies - I completely agree with what you're saying - I've also recently added Elliot as a boy?
I agree with you about Tobias, Jollster and totally agree Felicity might be a bit frilly - but Flic is quite a cute nn??

Alfie - yawn
Edward - Good, lots of shortening potential
Ethan - I knew a nice Ethan once
Henry - too many about
Jack - You know he'll end up in politics
Malachy - yeurch
Morgan - Gorgeous, especially as a middle name after a really cool first name...
Tobias - fat

Emilie - Very pretty but think Amélie is nicer or just Emily
Fearne - nope
Felicity - posh
Harriet - bound to end up drunk a lot and posting about it on FB but awfully sweet at heart and very pretty and popular. Or am I transferring?
Liberty - Yup. good.
Maisy - Sooo nineties dear
Matilda - Lovely especially as a middle name

Is this speculative or should I say congrats....??

foreverastudent · 27/07/2010 12:57

Alfie -too 'of the moment' and not a proper name imo
Edward- I'd assume you're a twilight fan
Ethan- the best
Henry- 6 wives
Jack - not another one!
Malachy -only if you're irish, then v gd
Morgan- yes, a fan of unisex names
Tobias -trying too hard

Girls
Emilie- with that ending i'd confuse it with the boys name Emile
Fearne - nice
Felicity -nosy old lady with a big pleated skirt
Harriet- hurry up
Liberty- i like it but could be seen as chavvy
Maisy- I'd feel sorry for an adult with this name
Matilda - too trendy
