Georgiana, like in Pride and Prejudice? Personally I like shortening a long name, gives the child options when she is older.

My friend Georgy is Georgina.

My friends DD Georgie is just Georgie. And it really suits her! I think it's a lovely name.

I really like Georgie, but I think you do need a longer name. Would go with either Georgia or Georgina.

Tortington · 25/07/2010 10:02

georgiana or georgianna

purepurple · 25/07/2010 10:02

Georgina gives her the options of a cute name for when she is small in Georgie. Gina is more suited to an older teen/adult. She also has a grown up name too in the full version.

Georgette
Georgianna
Georgia
Georgina
Georgiana

I like Georgiana really don't like Georgette as it sounds like courgette! Love just Georgie on it's own tho.

Rockbird · 25/07/2010 21:38

It does sound like courgette!

I'd go with Georgia. Simple and classic.

BertieBasset · 25/07/2010 21:41

My dd has a friend Georgie, short for Georgina, but she gets called Gina too which is cute.

I always think Georgiana sounds made up, I know it isn't and actually think it is a pretty name, but it does sound a bit odd to me.

I like Georgina. Georgia abit trendy a few years ago, there re loads in DD's year (age 13) but georgina is less trendy and nicer IMO.
