Henny for short?
Chic or just shabby?

Sorry OP but I really don't like it and I don't think many people would.
Harriet is OK though.

SirBoobAlot · 21/07/2010 21:53

Like it alot.

Prefer Henriette though.

proudfoot · 22/07/2010 01:35

I don't like it at all but love Harriet

gibba8 · 22/07/2010 18:59

Henrietta is my first name and also a family name. Luckily i was always called by my middle name and only called Henrietta by close family members. Sorry but I hate it and certainly do not think it is a cute name for a cute little baby.

champagnesupernova · 22/07/2010 19:04

love it

Grasswidow · 14/04/2020 06:36

Just stumbled on this, wonder how many chose Henrietta or Henriette? My name is Henriette, but the danish version, so pronounce both the H and the final e... I love the name today it’s unique and I don’t feel there is a class associated with it as it has been very sparingly used in the uk. I have always resisted any abbreviation and if anyone tries to call me Henry I just don’t answer. When people ask what my family and friends call me I look at them questionable and say Henriette!

Bezalelle · 14/04/2020 11:03

Dreadful name! Like a priggish little girl in an Enid Blyton book.

Whatsyourflava · 14/04/2020 11:10

I really love Harriet?

careworkerandproud · 15/04/2020 21:34

Beautiful. Hetty or Etta for short

Buttercup54321 · 17/04/2020 00:34

Harriet?

autumnkate · 17/04/2020 07:42

I know a 7 year old one.

I think it’s hideous.

autumnkate · 17/04/2020 07:43

ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE ZOMBIE

Clawdy · 17/04/2020 08:39

I nearly called DD Henrietta, thought it was lovely, but I knew it would be shortened as it's a long name, and I wasn't keen on any of the short versions.

Hettiesmomhasgotitgoingon · 04/05/2021 21:45

Says the oligarchs stripper name.

Iamlikesorry · 11/10/2023 20:27

I went for Henrietta - it really suits her. She's elegant and bookish. She's 15 now. We call her Hen at home but everyone sticks to the full version.

KirstenBlest · 11/10/2023 21:27

Henny? No. Hetty? Yes.
Much prefer Harriet nn Hattie.

Iamlikesorry · 12/10/2023 00:34

We tried Hettie and Etta but it just didn't suit.

peaceinourtime · 12/10/2023 13:01

Henrietta is really nice. I like the nickname Henry or Henri which ever spelling you prefer.

Iamlikesorry · 12/10/2023 20:31

There were 47 registered in the UK the year she was born. My own name is nice but in every group of women of the same age I meet, there are at least 4 of us. She is at a large school - she's the only one there!

CowboyJoanna · 14/10/2023 20:30

Henrietta does not sound like a real name sorry. I know it is but it screams "i wanted a boy called Henry but I had a girl instead oops"
