Hmmmmmmm doesn't sound right to my ears. Shouldn't Tillie be short for Matilda? If she is called Natalie people will shorten it to Nat.

dd1 is called Natalie.

We shorten her name to Tilly and she loves it. Her friends, however, all call her Nat.

PatriciaHolm · 16/07/2010 22:36

We have a Natalie and she gets called Nat or Nats or NatNat! I can see how Tillie might work but it's not the natural shortening, IYSWIM.

fryalot · 16/07/2010 22:38

oh yeah, mine gets Nats and NatNat as well - and NatBat, the Natster and the Great Natsby.

It's a fab name for playing with, if you like lots of silly nicknames from it now I think about it...

NiceCuppaT · 16/07/2010 23:18

Tally nn?

usualsuspect · 16/07/2010 23:21

I don't know how you can choose a nn

Rubena · 17/07/2010 08:44

she'll get Nat - there's one in my family and no matter how hard mum tries, she's still Nat to everyone

mollymax · 17/07/2010 09:08

I like the name, as long as people pronounce the T... where I live she would be called
Naa-aleee.

sungirltan · 17/07/2010 09:16

i like it

I like the name Natalie and the nn Tillie.

But you will have to live with other people shortening it to Nat!
