A friend just text to say they'd had a son - called Samson.

Thought of you. Perhaps Samson is not as unusual as I thought it was.

Afraid I do not like Bay.

gagamama · 16/07/2010 09:40

I quite like Bay. Toyed with it as a middle name for DS.

(It really doesn't work as a middle name though as it makes the first name sound like a beach, regardless of what the name is!)

gagamama · 16/07/2010 09:43

It's also not good if your surname begins with B. Bay B.

LuluF · 16/07/2010 10:31

I know a little girl named Bay. And it reminds me of horses, too.

I think Rocco is great - I know a lovely Sicilian man named Rocco.

SuzysZoo · 16/07/2010 14:44

Imagine he is 40 and has just turned up for a very serious business meeting and he is introduced....does Bay work with that? It sounds more like a surfer than an accountant which may be a good thing, but what if he turns out to be an accountant?

donnie · 16/07/2010 14:46

awful!

Margeaux · 16/07/2010 14:59

I quite like it but it reminds me of horses.

Sorry.

MrsJohnDeere · 16/07/2010 15:12

Bay is ds2's nn (despite being nothing like his real name ). I like it as a nn for a 2yo, but I'm less keen as a proper name for a teenager or adult.

gypsycurlytots · 16/07/2010 18:25

I love it. What happenned to Beau?

sedgiebaby · 16/07/2010 19:17

I like it but it sounds better for a girl to me sorry.

zenoushka · 17/07/2010 12:53

Hmmmm, I'm not sure. I don't hate it but I don't love it either. Like the other post above I think it's just a bit "meh".

rimmer08 · 17/07/2010 15:13

i have no idea why i like it but i do

Cinderellarach · 17/07/2010 15:26

Gypsycurlytots-Dh hates Beau thought I'd change his mind and it didn't work.

For now we're calling him Rocco.DH calls him Rocky
We can't get him registered untill the middle of august.
For some random reason I like Bay but I seem to like names that are not 'normal'..

I really like Rocco; it's cool.
I'm afraid Bay might be called Babe or Baby -one thing we all seem to agree on is that other kids can be cruel.

sharbie · 19/07/2010 12:55

I like it for either a boy or a girl

Girlymumoftwoboys · 20/07/2010 22:47

Nice but abit meh.Reminds me of Kai.

flibbertigibbert · 20/07/2010 22:52

Don't like it. Fine if it's short for something but not as a standalone name
