Hello lovely people,

We've come up with a list of names for our first daughter and have had some lukewarm reactions, so we thought we'd try them out on here:

Constance
Beatrice
Juliana
Delphine

My favourite is Delphine, but then I am listening to a lot of hazy french summer tunes at the moment so may just have had my brain addled by Charlotte Gainsborough...

Thanks in advance

Ooh, Delphine is lovely!

Unfortunately dh just vetoed for dc3 (probably cos it's French and dc would have french-sounding surname, though we are not french!)

Like Juliana too, but Delphine...

All lovely but Constance is my favourite followed by Beatrice. Connie is a fab nn too!

Constance is my favourite from your list, then Beatrice.

Also quite like Juliana but how do you pronounce it? Is it Julie-ah-na, or Julie-anna?

Sorry but I don't really like Delphine.

Delphine's my fav, but it's so french that it's a bit risky if you have no ties to les francais. I like Juliana too, but I'm not a fan of the others. Have you ever considered Rosalind? It's in a similar vein to the ones on your list and equally pretty.

Constance is my fave, then Delphine.

Constance followed by Beatrice

PantsMacabre · 15/07/2010 14:27

Had i had a girl she would have been a constance or a Beatrice - but just to be unhelpful, i really like the other two names too...

foreverastudent · 15/07/2010 14:34

They are all pretty and inoffensive but maybe a bit too girly? What if she's a tomboy?
