Hi,
PLEASE don't tell me what a girly/weird/poncey choice of name Larkin is (for a boy)...but please do suggest a middle name - the surname is 2 syllable, fairly unusual and Celtic.

Thanks so much!

Around????!!!

Sorry

seeker · 12/07/2010 21:32

I honestly don;t think you can call a boy a name that will automatically shortened to Lark, can you?

Lionstar · 12/07/2010 21:33

Actually seeker, I think I prefer Lark to Larkin!

OP, how about Rufus?

SirBoobAlot · 12/07/2010 21:34

OP - am really sorry but the first thing that came into my mind was Larkin' around.

Erm - Vincent might be a nice middle name maybe? Or Benedict?

seeker · 12/07/2010 21:36

A 15 stone rugby player called Lark?

Or worse, a shy, undergrown spotty 13 year old called Lark?

SirBoobAlot · 12/07/2010 21:38

Sorry but I had to post this... Far too good an opportunity to miss!

I like Larkin by the way.

mopsyflopsy · 12/07/2010 21:56

I agree - a one or three syllable middle names works best e.g.

Larkin James Surname
Larkin Charles Surname
Larkin Theodore Surname
Larkin Alexander Surname

emmcar · 12/07/2010 21:56

Henrik.

MudandRoses · 12/07/2010 22:30

Thanks for all those SERIOUS suggestions!! I also think a 3 syllable, or possibly 1 syllable name, will work best.
and Sirboobalot, i KNOW who philip larkin is, obviously, so i know his most famous (and least impressive poem). But, er, thanks.

I never said you didn't?

It's got to be Larkin James. (James Larkin, aka Big Jim)
