Would you and your family like to take part in the University of Bristol’s exciting new research on life with smart technologies?
Some people can’t live without Voice Assistants like Alexa or Siri, doorbell monitors and drop-ins, pet cameras and robot vacuums. Others worry about the impact on our wellbeing or feel left behind by their ‘digital native’ children.
We are looking for a diverse range of families living in the South West, who have at least one child between 5 and 10 living at home, to help us explore this topic.
Participation in the project would include:
- Showing us round your home so we can see how your devices (e.g. screens, etc.) fit into everyday life;
- Talking to us as a family about who uses what and when and how;
- Sharing some of your data with us, such as messages from a WhatsApp family groupchat and commands given to smart speakers (families will be able to choose and review what they share and no-one outside the research team will have access to their data);
- A one-to-one follow up interview with one or more family members.
Families will be offered a small reward for participation.
