Baby monitor suggestions for old Victorian house

Hi there ladies. We're hopefully moving to an old Victorian / Georgian house outside of Sevenoaks. It's also got a reasonably long garden. Any tips for a baby monitor that is good through thick walls and long range? I'm hoping to enjoy a glass of wine in the garden over the summer! TIA x

I know that this is a really old thread but wondered if anyone might have an answer to it as we are in a similar position.

HI - I'm looking for the same thing? anyone have any luck? I have a motorola but it only works in certain rooms and teh range outdoors is not great....
