Monitors that are constantly on - not just triggered by sound

We've tried out two motorola monitors thinking it was a fault with the product but are slightly distressed to find it's a common aspect of baby monitors!! We're really not happy with the juddery stop-start feel of the monitors and would much rather a monitor that was constantly relaying the bedroom sounds/white noise rather than coming on seconds after hearing noise. We'd quite like a video monitor that wasn't too pricey, any recommendations or are they all just trigger ones now?

Our bt one is on all the time Smile

We have a Phillips one (not video) which is always on, as are the BT ones. Maybe it's just a Motorola or a video monitor thing because all the sound only ones we looked at were always on. I think Angelcare do a video one which is meant to be good.

This one for example can do either continuous sound or sound activated.

I've found a BT and a Samsung that are video ones that I like the look of, but how the chuff can you tell if they're constantly on?

We've got this budget Tommee Tippee one which is on all the time. You can hear them snuffling and other ambient sounds when they occur.

Its pretty basic but it works well and has 3 light settings and a temperature reading.

Would recommend it. It also doesn't interfere with our Philips one which is sadly discontinued.

we have this one and it is bloody brilliant!

i looked at loads and spent hours looking into them all and this was fantastic value for money and is a brilliant unit. Reasonably sensitive and the talk back button is fantastic to reassure my dd that we are on our way if we are in the garden when she wakes or i am on the loo!
