Does this sound like coeliac?

I know the internet can’t tell me for sure, but for those who are experiencing coeliac disease, do these symptoms match yours? (I know everyone is different);

extreme bloating. I ate a large pasta dish and garlic bread last night and felt so nauseous afterwards.

tiredness. Always had on and off low iron. Constantly on iron tablets.

itchy knees with a plaque looking coating (no blistery rash though)

brain fog. Clumsiness. I am always dropping things, tripping over things, bumping into doors. I sometimes struggle to get some words out.

unexplained constipation (I eat fruit and veg)

just to add, I am finally having a blood test tomorrow for this, so I will ofc update.

thanks for reading.

Not my experience but everyone can have different. Mine was (tw) extraordinarily vile diarrhea (basically food rotting in my gut), weight loss, fatigue, nails and hair stopped growing, nails crumbling.

I think it’s impossible to say as everyone’s symptoms can vary and some people can even be symptom less but still have the damage to their bowel.
I had the DH rash plus regular diarrhoea and fainting. But my sister was very very underweight and has sinus problems and was violently sick in the middle of the night every night. So very different ways it affected us.
It’s really good that you are being tested though, so hopefully you will get to the bottom of what is going on

'itchy knees with a plaque looking coating (no blistery rash though)'

My main (and insanely itchy) symptom was Dermatitis Herpetiformis. I did not ever have the blisters as everything you read online states. I had little bumps in areas: all over my feet, back of my calves, sides of my thighs, lower back, outsides of elbows, front of knees.

After I had eliminated gluten (and the itch massively reduced within 24 hours), I realised that with hindsight, I did have some gastro symptoms. I had looked 4 months pregnant for about 3 years and within a week, my belly was flat.

Your symptoms do read to me like Coeliac.

I never had a test done because by the time I had worked out the root cause (for myself, a year's worth of visits to the GP and a derm were useless), I was 4 weeks into a GF diet and feeling a hundred times better and refused to consume gluten again and therefore become very sick again.

They are all symptoms of coeliac so yes.

Yes, my son had the bloating, brain fog, tiredness and patches on his knees (which once we took him off gluten eventually went away but before then used to glow red if he’d had a crumb, was useful to see if he’d been glutened)

I got glutened Saturday night I spent most of Sunday snoozing, had to keep stopping for an afternoon nap. I never sleep during the day.

It’s funny how different everyone’s symptoms are. Sleepiness is one of my most debilitating, I’ve had to pull over when driving before because I simply could not stay awake.

I usually (not always) have no gastro symptoms, but a host of others. Terrible brain fog, aching joints, mouth ulcers, fatigue, recurrent infections … Lasting for about 6 weeks after every exposure even if that’s just cross-contamination.

Good luck, OP. If it is coeliac you start to feel better within a couple of weeks of stopping gluten.
