Crohn’s - how long until biological takes effect?

My dd was diagnosed with Crohn’s. She’s been on adalimumab but I’m not convinced it’s helping. She went a couple of weeks ago and said to continue as she was. Yet she’s still going to the bathroom 5-6 times a day. I’m surprised they haven’t given her something in addition. How long should she leave it?

I have Ulcerative colitis and it was about two months before I saw any improvement.

I had adalimumab for ra and it takes a couple of months to show up. Biologics are a slow process but worth it.

They told me biologics are good for keeping people in remission but not as good at getting them into remission, so we started with steroids to induce remission and then adalimumab to keep it away.

Biologics have worked really well for DD and it was pretty quick for us. Did they begin with loading doses? 4 injections, then 2? Then 1?

Yeah that’s what worries me. They never gave anything to get rid of the inflammation first and they are relying on the biological to get her into remission. She’s only been on them since April.
she saw an improvement when CP went from 1500 to 450 but last time is was going up to 650 and her symptoms are not improving. Think we need to get something to dampen the inflammation to allow things to work
