What can I do to get through this I feel like I’m being a baby but I’m so miserable.

I have no idea what is wrong with me. Last year I started getting unwell , by December and January I was really unwell with diahrea and nausea (rarely actually sick) and loss of appetite. I ended up in hospital. In hospital I had endoscopy and sigmoidoscopy and iv fluids and was discharged after 8 days.

I was unwell for another few weeks then it stabilised into a few days of sickness then a weekend or two not so bad repeating. I ended up in hospital overnight in March after getting dehydrated again. But I have managed to bumble along since then.

I finally got the follow up gastro appointment a few weeks ago they said the endoscopy showed I have barrats esophagus (but wouldn’t explain my illness) and it also showed I have some inflammation in my duodenum (?) of the type which they sometimes see in celiac but it was minor and I have had multiple negative celiac tests. So he didn’t seem to think that was it.

my calprotectin was 1200 in Jan and even a few months ago when I wasn’t feeling so bad it was still 700. He said it doesn’t really matter it’s gone down it’s still to high (which is the opppsite to what my gp said when he basically dismissed me) .
The gastro wants to do a full colonoscopy which is in a weeks time.

but the last two week my stomach is going crazy again. It’s just crampy and sore I am feeling sick, I am getting upset stomachs I feel horrible and just unwell.

i don’t feel like I can really complain again while I’m waiting for the tests but I just feel so awful I could cry.

does anyone have any tips how to cope with this and also if I already have diahrea and feel sick how will that effect the colonoscopy prep.

I already have to go to the toilet with an upset stomach without an hour of eating!

They give you something to clear you out for the colonoscopy so I guess it will just clear less or if you're already cleared out. Don't eat for several hours before if it's causing issues. I hope they find a cause (and treatment) for you. It's miserable feeling nauseous, I hate it. I can handle diarrhea but nausea is awful.

Honestly OP it could well be gluten that's messing you up, so the coeliac-type damage being seen would fit, even if you aren't officially 'coeliac'. Personally I would banish gluten from your diet in order to test whether that might be behind it all. I suddenly started reacting to gluten a few years ago out of the blue and it was miserable. My calprotectin was through the roof. I eliminated gluten and within a couple of days began feeling better. I'm OK now but strictly avoid gluten containing foods.

I hope you can get to the bottom of the problem OP.
