My GP is testing me for this but hasn't explained what test results to look out for on my patient record. Is IgA the same as ttg?
I'm feeling really confused! TIA

A raised TTG is what you are looking for. Don’t compare results across the country as the results vary between labs - sometimes positive results are 3,000 other labs can have positive results at 20.
Sone people have IgA deficiency which means TTG levels won’t be raised despite having Coeliac disease. This is routinely checked as part of the Coeliac blood test so your results should give a clear yes or no answer as to whether you have Coeliac disease or not.
In the past a biopsy was needed to confirm Coeliac disease but nowadays it is done purely on blood tests (they are specific for Coeliac disease so a positive result can be definitely confirmed).

Coeliac UK offer great support.

Becky Excell has amazing recipes and resources, plus her Facebook group is very supportive.
