Supplements for Rheumatoid Arthritis

I suffer with rheumatoid arthritis as a side effect of IBD. I can live with the discomfort in my hands for now but not my knees when going upstairs or bending down. Has anyone taken any supplements or OTC medication that has successfully helped their rheumatoid arthritis?

Arthritis and IBD are both linked to/caused by inflammation. Have you tried a low inflammation diet?

What’s a low inflammation diet? I avoid all the foods that trigger my IBD and when I am in a relapse, I have a very bland, low residue diet.

I got rid of RA by cutting out dairy for two years.

Look at LDN from Dicksons chemist in Scotland that can be life changing for some.

Thank you. I have recently cut down on dairy (the last month or so). I now have soya milk in my tea and coffee. However, I do eat a lot of greek yogurt, as it really settles my stomach.

You can't 'get rid' of RA, it's a chronic disease with no cure.
You may have little or no inflammation, but you still have RA. You can flare at any time

Sea buckthorn and turmeric are both great for inflammation.

Following a vegan diet has helped me massively, to the point of no pain at all! I also take vitamin D, B12 and turmeric every day. My Methotrexate has now been lowered to 10mg per week and I've been in remission for two years. Good luck, I hope you find what works for you x
