Okay, a brief rundown if I can please bare with me lol.
Hair thinning, August 2022.
•Diagnosed with hypothyroidism, September 2022, and quickly medicated and levels have been stable ever since.
•Had full blood count, and ferritin levels checked. All okay and within normal levels.
•I also get my thyroid levels checked every three months.
•i have been taking vitamin supplements, B12, iron with vitamin C, cod liver oil, collagen, biotin Vitamin D for about 8 to 12 months.
•just started zinc and Magnesium about 2 weeks ago. Dec 2023
•Finally saw dermatologist October 2023, who said it was TelogenEffluvium And gave me some Dermavate scalp steroid for my scalp, however, it gave me really bad reaction, stop using after two weeks.
•using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. Not tying my hair up and using bulldog clips. Using Alpecin every other day on my scalp.

it’s just getting worse!!!!!!
I am literally at my wits end…can any one help me??

i have just stopped vaping about 2 weeks ago as I read nicotine can effect hair growth?? Has anyone heard of this?

Any advice would be appreciated. And please remember to be kind. Xxx

I can’t offer much advice but just sympathy. I lost all my hair on my head over two weeks in July, followed very quickly by everything else. No miracle cure or cause has been found yet. It’s great that you’re already under a derm, still waiting for mine - I guess a great diet and no alcohol/nicotine won’t hurt!

@Werewolfnotswearwolf oh my gosh, so sorry to hear this!!! Really hope You get supported soon and some answers.
I could probably do with cutting down my alcohol intake to be fair.
thank you for replying xx

Are your ferritin levels low in range? GPs may say in range but it can be low enough in range to support hair loss?

Hi Op
I developed an auto immune disease 2 years ago. Started losing my hair. It was coming out in handfuls. I discovered L'Occitane strength & volume shampoo. It contains rosemary which is supposed to be good for regrowth & thickness. After 2 weeks the loss had minimised. After 2 months I had regrowth.
I am now 18 months on and my hair is looking good.
I also take various vitamins including super vitamin B complex.
If I buy direct from L'Occitane online it's £29 for the 500ml eco refill. This lasts me approx 8 weeks. There are often special offers from various retailers so worth looking around.
I hope you find something that works for you 🤞.

Have you had covid recently? Mine falls out a few months after each infection.

The only topical thing proven to help with hair regrowth is Regaine/minoxidil. My hair started falling out - or rather, I really noticed it - November of last year. It was really getting so bad.

I’m in menopause so it could be that; could be stress (I’m under a lot) or could be medication - I take a lot. It could be anything.

I’ve been referred to the derm/trichologist but that’s taking forever, and in the mean time I started HRT and using Regaine. Started both at the same time (in panic over hair loss) so I don’t actually know which is causing this, but I do have regrowth, especially round the temples.

Give Regaine a shot if you’re pre-menopausal.

it’s a pain in the arse doing it every day, but I definitely have some regrowth.
