Autoimmune disease
LED mask ok for autoimmune disease?

So a few weeks ago I was diagnosed with Undiffrrentiated Connective Tissue Disease which is good in a way but also annoying as it’s so unspecific. Eg I have the lupus’ malar rash but not lupus, sjogrens dry eyes and mouth but not sjogrens, joint pains but not arthritis.
Was just looking at my friend’s new LED face mask and have done a bit of research it says it’s good for lots of ailments I have - inflammation, serotonin production (I’m on SSRIs), acne, etc. But wondering whether it could cause an immune reaction. I’m Not on any drugs yet. I do have this malar rash but also get lots of rashes from generally v sensitive skin so wondering if it could help soothe in general without flaring the malar rash.

Just realised the masks are LED and photosensitivity is relating to UV I think. So, silly me 🙃🙃

Let us know if you try it and if it helps with the dry eye? I've found laser (for regular menopausal wrinkles etc) does help - so ask my laser tech to focus on the area under the lower eye when she does it (BBL). There's some research too suggesting BBL helps Sjogren's and other dry eye.

I have mixed connective tissue disease a similar, but not identical diagnosis. I do get photosensitivity and it seems to be to all sources of UV, but I only found that by trial and area.
For dry eyes I found heat packs on my eyelids and daily systane drops really helpful.
For dry skin I found skin care that worked for me ( in my case Liz Earle) and I stick to it religiously.
I also have vitelligo on my face so need make and use No7 foundation spf 50 every day to prevent a uv rash on my face.
I also have some features of raynauds so I really feel the cold so I tend to cover up more than the average person which does help the rash.

Thanks - I’ve ordered a mask and they’ve said I can return it if I flare up so can give it a go. I’m SICK of spending on creams, cleansers, lotions etc only to react to them so hoping this mask will do what they do with no reaction! I finally have a routine of Cetaphil cleanser and moisturiser (SPF50) but tried a retinol thing the other day and woke up with the rash. Just wipes me out. So miserable!!
