Bitter taste in mouth - thyroid

Hi! Autoimmune thyroid issues here since my twenties (I'm now 42). First Grave's which responded to treatment but then recurred as Hashimoto's later, as the endocrinologist said it was likely to.

I've been experiencing a bitter taste in my mouth for the best part of a year, on and off. My GP diagnosed it as gastro-oesophogial disease, and gave me proton pump inhibitors, which I don't take anymore as it didn't seem to help. However, I don't seem to have any of the other symptoms - cough, lump in throat, burning sensation, etc. My stomach does seem to be a bit more sensitive these days, though.

Have any of you with thyroid issues had a bitter taste in your mouth, or any kind of non-specific stomach sensitivities?

I'm otherwise fit and healthy, and have a good diet. I'm wondering how much I need to investigate this or whether it's just one of those side effects from thyroid issues I need to live with (like tiredness!).

Thanks!
