Coeliac diagnosis

Hi my son has just been diagnosed as coeliac confirmed with a blood test. Had a letter from the hospital today to ask for blood tests for vitamin D, ferritin and Thyroid. Is this normal when you are first diagnosed?

Hypothyroid is associated with coeliac from my understanding. Anaemia and vitamin deficiency is also common due to poor nutrient absorption so its good they're being checked. They normally have annual blood tests just to check.
