B12 deficient experiences

I have recent found out I'm B12 deficient. Online I have found an amazing amount of symptoms have been attributed to B12 deficiencies.
Does anyone have any real life experience of B12 deficiency symptoms including any of the neurological ones?
Tia

I do, diagnosed 3 years ago after getting progressively poorly, my levels were so low the Dr said he couldn't believe I was still standing. Scary because apparently the next stage could have been organ failure.

Many symptoms, some neurological that still hang around and flare up. Feel free to ask anything you'd like to knowDaffodil

I have B12 deficiency. I experience tingling hands and feet, body jolts and heart palpitations when I am low. Having trouble getting my B12 appointment due to lack of staff and I am feeling the symptoms coming back. Its a strange one.

I've had it for about 10 years. Before I was diagnosed it was quite a scary time, I couldn't think straight and my short term memory was (still is but not as much) shot to shit. I'd forget conversations and also forget everyday words. The 'brain fog' was very real and scary. After about 4 doses into my loading dose it was like a light lifted and everything got better. Now I have to have injections every 3 months and everyone at work knows to e-mail me if they want something to be done, otherwise I would not remember to do it. I also get quite lethargic and some days have to make myself get off the sofa. Another symptom I have is incredibly vivid and weird weirdy dreams they are different in a way from normal dreams. I've developed coping strategies for when I get closer to my next injection. I definetly feel it when I'm due my next dose. Good luck!

Hi, I have not had B12 deficiency confirmed (GP hasn't even thought about it despite positive Ana, a confirmed auto immune disease, and strong maternal history of pernicious aneamia, including my mother) but have been having quite severe and diverse problems, which had got to the stage that my job has been affected. I coincidently started taking a high dose sub lingual B12 spray- I bought it months ago and forgot about it, but found it whilst tidying. In 2 weeks I am literally transformed. Foggy head, joint and muscle pains, days or extreme blurred vision, strange sensations like the car rolling way when stepping out, distressing pin prick feelings all over body for years (GP thought I was imagining it I'm sure) memory problems. Most dramatically, gastric symptoms and sickening pains under my ribs and shoulder blade, which were/are threatening my career due to exacerbation over last year, have literally disappeared. I am buzzing and productive once more! I can't bloody believe it, it is (so far) life changing. I have not discussed with GP - I have an underlying feeling, that she thinks I am a hypochondriac after listing my concerns, despite usually having problems for years before going to a GP. I fear she will find my "transformation" another sign of lunacy Blush. It is so extreme I feel like I want to shout it from the roof tops.I feel cured. Too soon to comment on memory issues, but fingers crossed.

For me -

headaches
memory loss
tinnitus
joint pain
swollen feet
fatigue
breathlessness
randomly falling over

I get injections every 3 months but in reality after about a month everything starts creeping back and I feel rotten again.

Bonkerz · 18/06/2022 19:35

Pernicious anemia here. Injections every 8 weeks.

Biggest symptoms

Fatigue
Pain in legs
Forgetting words
Pins and needles in hands
Dry skin
Breathless

I was told I had vitamin B-12 deficiency shortly after having DS nearly 12 years ago now. I just felt shitty and tired all the time.
I was told that I would need my bloods taken annually for life to keep a check on it, although I haven’t heard from them or been called in for a blood test for at least 3 years or so now!

Are you receiving treatment?
