Psoriatic arthritis anyone?

Awake in pain, and wondering if anyone has any tips for pain management for psoriatic arthritis please? Diagnosed with psoriasis twenty years ago, no issues with it for about fifteen years, then a sudden flare up about a year ago. Several joints inflamed and aching - both ankles, and distal joints of several fingers. What have you found that helps? Any suggestions very welcome!

I was finally put onto a biologic drug at hospital a year ago, and it's made a massive difference.

Do you have a referral to Rheumatology?

Just waiting to see rheumatology at the moment - GP has prescribed a stronger steroid cream for the skin (scalp) patches as Betnovate wasn't helping much. Just wish I'd known more about it when I was first diagnosed - I thought it was just like eczema so just used Betnovate for a while, then it hasn't bothered me for so many years that is pretty much forgotten about it! Scalp been flaring up for about a year now, joint inflammation relatively new.

My sympathies. I am new to it and don’t definitely have it yet , am having xrays etc. The consultant has said we may be discussing Methotrexate next time I see him and thinks he can get me a lot better than I am currently.

I hope you have a treatment plan sorted out by now 🙂 Have you had a look on Facebook at support groups? There is a really good one called Psoriatic Arthritis UK Group. Has a cup of tea as profile picture. Great support and knowledge in there xx
