My youngest has had diarrhea - watery and yellowish like baby poo - for a few months but concealed this. It's also very foul smelling.
We removed gluten as a test (5 family members - siblings, cousins, nephew are coeliac) as she was coughing and low in energy, she had 2.5 weeks off it. In the meantime we visited doctor and she has to restart gluten for a month to get blood test.
When off gluten the diarrhea wasn't resolved but I think it was less explosive (sorry) and less foul smelling. She stopped coughing and seemed more energetic.
Gluten was reintroduced yesterday and the cough has started up again and foul smell returned. We are removing dairy as the other intolerance option as we can do this alongside adding back gluten.
Because there wasn't a dramatic improvement in her poo while off gluten does that mean she probably isn't coeliac, or does it potentially take longer to resolve than that?
