Alopecia DS 13

I have noticed a bald patch appearing on DS, 13, above his ear. It is increasing in size quite significantly so I will make a GP appointment next week (he is currently self isolating due to contact with a Covid + case at school).
DS also has ASD ADHD and PDA, as well as migraines which have reduced his school attendance to 80%.
Does anyone have any advice or wise words?

Is it definitely spontaneous rather than him fiddling with it?
I only ask as my DC -also has ASD/ADHD- gave themselves a bald patch and I discovered they were pulling on their hair when stressed. It was only after seeing the bald patch I really noticed they were doing it.
I know it’s a worry, no matter the cause, I hope the dr can rule out any underlying medical cause Flowers

My DS recently had this, a patch about the size of £1 coin, the doctor said I should just monitor it and call back if it was getting bigger.
His hair completely grew back within a couple of months Smile

Thanks for your replies.
It definitely isn't caused by hair fiddling, I noticed it a couple of haircuts ago (I cut the hair here with clippers so it's too short to fiddle with) and it is a "hole" above his ear which is expanding. DS says he has another patch somewhere on top which I will investigate this morning when the clippers come out.
Will a doctor prescribe anything? Or just see how it goes?
I am encouraged by the thought of it resolving by itself Smile
