DH (42) has ankylosing spondylitis and has been going through a bad flare since Christmas. He previously managed with anti inflammatories but today started on prednisone and is being assessed for biologics. His consultant says he needs the vaccine but has not been called yet.i am concerned as he is also a secondary school teacher and will be back with all his students next week. Should he contact his GP to arrange the vaccine? I am worried that it may take a few weeks for the information regarding his changed status to filter through to the vaccine booking service and cases are still fairly high here. Thanks for any advice

Yes, that is a very good reason to ring the Gp , follow up with an email with who the consultant is and what they said. They will either book you direct or send you a link. Shouldn’t be an issue.
