What do you all do for work?
I got made redundant last week from two jobs that fitted perfectly around my health issues. I am in the process of being treated (on steroids at the moment) but will be attending at least 3 appointments this year and also weekly blood tests. I am really worried as it is about coping with my health and a new job but also, worry that nobody will take me on. How do you all cope if you do work?

I have a fairly senior but mainly office based role. My manager has been so supportive and that has made all the difference. I found that being honest and explaining what I was doing to minimise time off work helped too. Good luck finding a new job.

I'm self-employed. Luckily in my line of work I can freelance as I work at home.,

Any help would be really helpful. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I'm concerned it could be bone cancer. Though from what I've read is v. rare. Could the swelling be arthritis?

I have an appointment with my GP but that's not until the 12th October. Ever since cancer I've been really anxious.

TIA

sorry please ignore.

I'm a specialist nurse but not ward based ....but only work 20 hrs / week - Mon-Wed and office hrs which is ideal as can't stand for long and considered disabled
However currently working from home as clinically extremely vulnerable- doing trial follow ups as have access to hospital databases ....I know I'm extremely fortunate to be able to do this , but I've 14 hrs as a band 6
Hopefully will be able to retire within next 5 years ( if I last that long!...been in NHS for 33 years and diagnosed with autoimmune disease 3years ago when had to reduce hrs from 30/week)

@ZaraW You need to push that appointment forward or go straight to A&E. Don't mess about. Cancer patients have been treated appallingly these last 6 months Flowers

I'm waiting on a biopsy result, I have auto-immune disease, stuck indoors, and I'm just about done being nice now.

ZaraW · 24/09/2020 06:21

Jamie LeeCurtains thanks I will do. I tried to create a post for this with a photo but was blocked by MN. Somehow I ended on this thread when I tried again.

Good luck with the biopsy.
