Puffiness around eyes

In the last few weeks I have woken up with the area around the eyes quite swollen and a bit tender. I don't think it's hayfever. I must see a doctor but wonder if anyone recognises these symptoms... I have used vaseline for the area under the eyes as when the swelling goes down it looks quite wrinkly! Thanks

Any other symptoms, itching, watery?

Not really- --although when I wake up I feel I can't open them. Thanks

I am SO sorry... I'm popping back and you're probably all fine now.
Have you been to see the GP?
My guess is either an infection of some sort or hayfever (the pollen count in most of the country is incredibly high. I have the worst hayfever I've ever had and it's manifested itself in ways that would have me assume I had an illness, NOT an allergy).

Have you tried Optimcrom drops or any treatment, like an eye ointment, for example Lacri-lube?

I have had what looks like this twice. Eyes swollen, under eyes and lids turned pink/purple. I had apparently a very odd reaction to cotton wool. It was a new brand and hadn't used it before. I don't know if it was treated with something as it doesn't happen with all cotton wool. Have you changed any products recently? I would wake up puffy having taken my make up off the night before.
