2 weeks today since I got diagnosed ( was at docs re blood test results when I mentioned the ‘rash’ that had popped up on my arm 2 days previously).

2 very long weeks full of anxiety, fear, lack of sleep and hours of trawling the internet looking for hope.

So far I’m the only one showing symptoms, we’ve all done 2 treatments of the cream and husband and I aren’t intimate- massive bed and no cuddles or the other!
19 year old son often out, spends a lot of time in room and not a cuddler( only on special occasions😂)and has own bathroom.
Although I’m aware that they may be still incubating it, I’m also wondering if there is any chance that they may not get it?

Was anyone here the only one to get it in their household or in a family where not everyone got it?

Please only let me know if the above was the case as my anxiety is dreadful as son going to stay with his GF over Xmas and we are going away with friends( well hopefully).

Looking for glimmers of hope.

Household of 4 one of the teens got it. None of the rest of us got it. We all did the treatment. Teen had own bedroom, own bathroom and we all sit at the same place at the dinner table so they always sat in their fabric seat. So none of the rest of us got it. It is a hateful thing OP and I hope you get rid quickly.

Oh and another glimmer of hope. One of my siblings had it 20 years ago- house of 5 and none of us got it!

And another glimmer! Teen had rash for about 4 weeks before they went to doctor. So you got it very quickly.

Family of 3 adults, one had it for quite a while, the others didn’t get it.

Snoopypie · 11/12/2025 08:33

Are there any cases of partners/spouses who didn’t catch it ?

Did anyone else get it??

Snoopypie · 04/01/2026 21:58

@HardworkSendHelppretty sure dog has and husband claims he’s still parasite free, won’t let me talk about it and he has a few marks which he claims are mozzie bites- he’s a big part of the problem, if he’d taken it seriously at the beginning and researched everything like I did rather than seeing this as my problem that would be simply treated with cream, changing the beds , getting a new vacuum and was only a problem due to my anxiety!

Ah it’s awful OP it has had a serious impact on my daughter’s mental health.

So sorry to hear that, but completely get it. I hope your daughter has access to some good mental health support and for you too, as watching someone suffer is hard.🫶
