Sydney to Melbourne road trip

Doing a 2 night/3 day road trip at the beginning of July and wonder if anyone can recommend a whale watching trip? I understand there are also some places to do aboriginal cultural experience en route?

Any other must see places to stop and spend overnight too would be great.

I’ve just seen on another thread that if you ask Chatgpt about your destination it can come up with an amazing itinerary, worth a try.

I live in Australia but have only ever flown between Sydney and Melbourne so can't comment on your itinerary but I can absolutely recommend a whale watching trip. That time of year they are pretty prolific off the coast, infact you can see them off the shore , but from a boat is highly recommended.

Check out Narooma, about 5 hours south of Sydney. They do swimming with seal experiences so I imagine there will be whale watching trips too.

For aboriginal cultural experiences, check the national parks. Each state has their own website. On the NSW one, under “things to do” filter by “aboriginal culture” for the park you’re visiting and sites will come up. You might find some unique places to stay in them as well!
