What are we all doing for New Years Eve?

I'd like to hear other people's plans! I'm undecided.

I've been invited to a "Bush Dance" in a nearby town (I'm in Sth Gippland in Vic) but mmmm, not sure about that!

Part of me wants to just stay home. Think I'm getting too old for this!

I'm going to a friend's place for a get together with all our mates. Preparing to be deafened by the cicadas there😂

Local Indian booked for 6.30 so we can get home in time for the fireworks on TV. All (adult) kids have their own plans so it is just DH and I. We are in Sydney but haven’t physically gone to see the fireworks in years as I hate crowds, once upon a time DH had a CBD office we could watch from so access to toilets and a fridge to keep our drinks cold but we still never stayed for midnight. Once the 9pm ones finish the idea of hanging around for another three hours is very unappealing. We used to spend it with friends until their friends moved into an apartment with harbour views and we got dumped sharpish 😂

Watching the family fireworks at 9 with a few other families. We have a little spot further up the harbour that is unticketed but decent views of the harbour bridge. No problem getting there, finding a spot etc but getting both kids back up the hill afterwards is not something I'm looking forward to!

How did it go?
I haven't been in there for NYE for years. Not since I was young and would spend all of NYE heavily on the piss 😂

A late happy NYE to everyone!

I ended up staying home by myself. My ex took our son to his sister's place, long story.

Actually enjoyed myself though! Had a bubble bath, made a nice dinner just for me & watched some good telly. Ex & kiddo came back just before midnight so got to watch the fireworks with my boy. By that I mean the local fireworks (possibly illegal?) that we could see from the back deck.

Here's to a better 2025 for us all X

Rather late input but a dear friend hosted a 10.00.a.m. - 1.00.p.m. brunch. So civilised.

That does indeed sound civilised.

I liked my "alone" NYE, would do it again!
